Students perform risque play ‘Closer' in Periodicals Room
Written by Patrick Marber, "Closer" is set in modern-day London. It involves four strangers who meet and get caught in a web of sex and lies. Each character is very human almost unpleasantly so constantly betraying and hurting those close to them. They are all intricately involved, romantically and sexually, and are ultimately driven by desire and a need for truth.
Daily Debriefing
Officials at the College Board have decided to reintroduce the Advanced Placement Italian test, The Washington Post reported. The test was eliminated in 2009 along with Latin literature, French literature and computer science AB because fewer students signed up to take each of these four tests than more popular tests, such as U.S. history. The College Board also called the Italian program "underfunded," according to The Post. The reinstatement of the test is a victory for the two-year lobbying effort led by Margaret Cuomo, daughter of former New York governor Mario Cuomo, and sister of New York Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo. The Italian national government will match the funds raised by Margaret Cuomo's group, the Italian Language Foundation, according to The Post.

Their future is predetermined, and this fatalism is so great that characters may be unaware of the reasons for their actions, according to Pippin.
Faculty diversity fails to match student stats
During the 1970s, the College began deliberately increasing its accessibility to prospective students of minority and low socioeconomic backgrounds. Over the course of the subsequent decade, the focus shifted to diversifying the faculty, an issue with which the College still struggles, according to Vice President of Institutional Diversity and Equity Holly Sateia '82. By the 1990s, the process of building a diverse student body and faculty was underway, and the College was devoting itself to creating communities and encouraging dialogue across campus, Sateia said.
