'10 Heorot from Long Island: I wish life was like The Sims, and every person from Long Island had a big green diamond floating over their head.
Peter Carini, college archivist, can show you Daniel Webster's socks or shards from the goalpost that exuberant fans ripped down when Dartmouth beat Yale in the famous Jinx game of 1935. On any given day, he might be digging up information on a long-passed alum or attempting to acquire new (or rather very old) materials for the College's extensive archives in Rauner Library.
You're a member of the Class of 2010, and after four years, you think you know this campus like the back of your hand. You're an alumnus who prides yourself in still knowing what's going on at the College (because you read The Dartmouth every day, obviously). Heck, you're one of those overzealous members of the Class of 2013 who puts themself on every organization's blitz list, so you basically already know everything there is to know about Dartmouth ... or do you?
So I have one bookmark on my iPhone, and it's the Dartmouth Dining Services menu page. You can start judging me, but I'm eating potstickers at Home Plate, so I don't even care. Food is definitely not the central part of any Dartmouth students' day (insert a joke about getting all of your calories from Keystone here) but terrible drinking habits aside, the issue of what food is available for you to scarf down while grabbing 10 minutes of face time can definitely influence your temporary happiness.
If Anthropologie made men's clothes, Jon Lohse '10 would be its designers' main source of inspiration. Lohse, however, said he did not develop his fashion sense before arriving at Dartmouth. His New Jersey high school, full of hallway fights and general teen angst, was not the most conducive environment for creative or artistic development or expression, he said.
Reboot and Rally is jumping back into the Petri dish this week to conduct a head-to-head body shaver smackdown. This comparison test pits the Philips Norelco Bodygroom+ against the Braun bodycruZer. For the uninitiated, these two shavers are both designed to trim all the hair below your neck. In other words, these trimmers are made for the delicate art of "manscaping."
So a girl walks into a bar in London. I mean, a pub. A girl walks into a pub. I mean, a girl tries to walk into a pub while also attempting T9 texting on a foreign phone and ends up walking into a glass door. Man, new phones are hard. A girl gives herself a concussion.
An affiliated female student who lost her virginity through sexual assault by a fraternity brother, and then couldn't convince her friends, or herself, that there is anything else to do here but go back to hanging out in his basement.
A commonly known Dartmouth statistic is that about 60 percent of Dartmouth students are involved in Greek life.
On any given day, while you rush to class, clubs and sports, 350 people are making sure floors are cleaned and mail is sorted and events are set up. And they're doing it all for you.
Dear Miss Muffin Top,
Throughout the day every day Dartmouth's faithful and hardworking employees are making our lives a little easier, whether they are students or FO&M staff.
It is a perennial criticism even a platitude that women's rush at Dartmouth is flawed, and getting worse.
A few weeks ago, my trippees and I returned to modern civilization after living in the woods like cavemen for five days. After having a heartfelt reunion with my contraband cell phone and taking an extra long hot shower that no doubt drowned a few polar bears, I went on my computer to download that e-mail software everyone kept talking about.
Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-N.H., raised $141,282 in thethird quarter of 2009 for her reelection campaign, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported Thursday. Shea-Porter has raised nearly $375,000 to date roughly the same amount she accumulated for her 2008 congressional race but has slightly less cash on hand than she had at the same time in 2007, the Union Leader reported. Shea-Porter, the only Democratic candidate in the 2010 race, spent roughly $1.5 million during the 2008 campaign. One of her current Republican opponents, Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, raised $125,755 in the third quarter. He has raised $180,121 to date, including a $20,000 loan Guinta himself gave to the campaign. Another Republican candidate, Bob Bestani of Newmarket, raised $42,390 in this quarter and now has $44,188 on hand, according to the Union Leader.

The talk, sponsored by the Dartmouth Ethics Institute, was part of a touring program, "Lessons Learned From the Failures of Others," organized by the University of St. Thomas. Hank Shea, a senior distinguished fellow at the St. Thomas School of Law, mediated the discussion. Shea has mediated more than 75 of these talks, in which white-collar felons most of whom he prosecuted share their stories to teach students about corporate ethics.
