Imagine that you've just started dating the perfect guy. Now imagine that he has scabies according to Dick's House, that is (end scene honeymoon, eh?). You start taking scabies medication and advise your roommates to do the same. Yes, it's inconvenient and exceedingly awkward, but it's better than actually suffering from the contagious skin disease.

New Hampshire has received only 85,000 of the 700,000 H1N1 vaccine doses state officials say the state needs, WMUR New Hampshire reported on Tuesday. The state Department of Health and Human Services, which serves as a mediator between local health providers and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, works to distribute vaccines proportionately according to regional populations. Local hospital officials say they have received thousands fewer doses than they ordered, though several officials also said they hope to obtain additional vaccines this week, according to WMUR. Distributors delivered more than 3,000 doses to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, but the hospital has requested 1,500 additional vaccines by the end of the week. Although health care providers must inform the state of the age of those vaccinated, state officials said they cannot follow every stage of distribution to ensure absolute fairness, WMUR reported.

A frequent, problematic topic discussed at Dartmouth is the desire for a universal unaffiliated space. And when I say unaffiliated, I mean the absence of any discernible power matrix, defined by gender, race, sexual identity or any socially constructed association. As Coed Council President Reyna Ramirez '10 identified ("The Coed Response," Nov. 3), coed spaces don't remove the problems plaguing our social interactions.

For Halloween this year, I attempted to dress up as Rafiki from "The Lion King." I painted my face red, yellow and blue, tied some orange gourd-looking things to a stick and found a baby lion stuffed animal to carry around. I actually thought I had nailed the costume.
