We were somewhere around hour four of layout when a group of flair-clad singers entered the production room. They were the Dartmouth Dodecaphonics, there to serenade Ray, our editor-in-chief. After all, Ray loves the news and it loves him back.
In late January, The Dartmouth conducted a survey about attitudes toward and experiences in various communities at Dartmouth. Several interesting results and differences by groups on campus emerged from the survey, yielding new information about student life in the process.
We’re all out of words today. A bunch of editors with nothing to say is a rare thing, so instead, we’re giving hugs and smiles and encouraging pats on the head. These are small gestures, but they make us all feel a little bit less alone. There’s not much we can say to make those around us feel loved, but that doesn’t mean we’ll stop trying. Campus is a little bit dimmer today, missing the light of our classmate and friend.
