Three months following the announcement of a book deal with St. Martin's Press, a 69-page PDF file of a book proposal purportedly by Andrew Lohse '12 has been leaked on the Internet. The book, "Party at the End of the World," chronicles Lohse's time at the College, including his arrest for cocaine possession and witness tampering in 2010 and the hazing he claims to have endured as a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Four College graduate programs biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics and astronomy have secured over $2 million in the form of Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need grants from the U.S. Department of Education. The GAANN Program, which assists top graduate students that demonstrate a need for financial aid, will fund 17 three-year graduate fellowships in the 2012 fiscal year.

On Aug. 22, the Dartmouth community lost Robert Kaiser '39, who served as house advisor to 46 generations of Psi Upsilon fraternity members. He was 95 years old.

Begor, an economics major modified with mathematics and a Spanish minor from Wilton, Conn., has earned six academic citations during his time at Dartmouth. Begor was also an early inductee into the Phi Beta Kappa society, a four-time Rufus Choate Scholar and a Rockefeller Center Leadership Fellow. He is a member of the Dartmouth Ski Patrol and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He also founded Project RightChoice, a fund-raising organization that raised over $195,000 in its first two years for the Fisher House Foundation and Water.org.

Members of Dartmouth's fraternities and dance troupes will gather in Leede Arena on Saturday to showcase their stepping skills at the 21st annual Step Show, hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Green Key weekend will feature a variety of other performances as well, including music, dance and slam poetry.

The Tuck School of Business has begun an initiative to provide expanded online resources to its introductory business courses for students enrolled in its MBA program. Since the effort's implementation in the fall, professors have begun to use video lectures, online quizzes and discussion boards to improve and supplement their curricula.

Last Thursday, Leonard Greenhalgh, the director of Programs for Native American Businesses and a management professor at Tuck School of Business, met with officials in the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., to discuss new plans for a program known as "Building High-Performing Native American Businesses." Assessing results from the past year and considering current public policy in the field, Greenhalgh and his colleagues considered potential changes to the program, which teaches business strategies and entrepreneurial skills to members of Native American communities, that would shift the emphasis from individual organizations to transforming a wider range of businesses.

"Oftentimes, sexual violence education frames consent in negative terms, like no means no' or don't rape,'" Christine Averill '13, the communication outreach director for the event said. "Consent Day is about being sex-positive, understanding what consent means and communicating that message clearly. We want people to know how important it is to show sensitivity and respect to others' rights and interests."

This weekend, 32 Dartmouth students will embark on a 24-hour expedition along the hills of New Hampshire, as they attempt "the 50," a recent Dartmouth tradition organized by the Dartmouth Outing Club. Participants will hike 53.6 miles along the Appalachian Trail, beginning in Hanover and ending at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge.
