Saturday will represent the 10th time in team history that Dartmouth will make an appearance in the NCAA tournament.
With the loss on Saturday, Dartmouth falls to 10-4-2, 4-1-1 Ivy. However, the team remains in second place in the league standings, barely edging out rivals Harvard and Princeton. Brown remains undefeated in the Ivy League, improving their record to 6-0, and increasing to 14-1-1 overall.
"We knew that this was going to be one of the biggest games of the season. An absolute must-win," co-captain Tommy Lobben '08 said.
The Dartmouth men's soccer team nabbed a victory over Columbia Saturday evening, beating out the Lions 2-1. Dani Rothenberg '09 scored two goals to lead Dartmouth to the win.
The Big Green currently sits in second place behind Brown (9-1-1, 2-0-0 Ivy), who upset Harvard yesterday. Penn (4-5-2, 1-1-0 Ivy) drops into a three-way tie for third in the Ivy League standings with Harvard (8-2-1, 1-1-0 Ivy) and Princeton (3-7-1, 1-1-0 Ivy).
After a frustrating loss to the University of New Hampshire last week, the Big Green was looking for a win in its Ivy League opener against the Bulldogs. However, robust defensive play and strong goalkeeping kept the game scoreless through the 110th minute.
