Six panelists discussed mental health issues at what was a culminating event for Student Assembly’s “Stop Hiding, Start Talking” initiative on Thursday night in Rollins Chapel. Topics ranged from struggles with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and eating disorders.

The new Alcohol Management Program been in place for two weeks, and the Office of Student Life plans to meet with Greek leaders today for a formal feedback session. No major problems with compliance have been reported so far.

Safety and Security director Harry Kinne said that he believed the results of the Greek Leadership Council’s first-year policy — which ended yesterday — have been consistent throughout the years it has been enforced. While there have been instances in which freshmen have been turned away from Greek houses, he is unaware of any violations of the policy this term.

Dari Seo ’16 was confirmed as the new Student Assembly vice president last Friday after members of the General Assembly voted in favor of his appointment in a near-unanimous decision, although only 57 percent of the General Assembly, or 42 members, were present.

Little progress has been made since the initial spring term release of recommendations made by the ad hoc committee on grading practices and grade inflation. The committee, emphasizing the concern of grade inflation at the College, had recommended harsher grading practices and the elimination of the non-recording option, among other suggestions in its 16-page report.

Student Assembly will discuss the confirmation of its new vice president over the next two weeks, Assembly president Frank Cunningham ’16 said. Cunningham announced in June that he was nominating Dari Seo ’16 as vice president, immediately following the resignation of then-vice president-elect Julia Dressel ’17.
