The First-Year Trips program has officially announced their Directorate for the upcoming year. The team welcoming the class of 2018 will be led by director Gerben Scherpbier '14 and assistant director Gina Greenwalt '14. The new Trips directorate will build upon the goal of last year's directorate to create a "spirit of welcome, but a welcome that doesn't cater to one type of student," Greenwalt said. They hope to accomplish this by working with faculty and staff and meeting "with student community groups who have not traditionally participated in Trips, to create an honest dialogue about how we could move the program forward, "Greenwalt said. The directors are excited that the new directorate "really wants to embrace change and not ever have tradition for tradition's sake."
