Geisel professor Norman Snow died

Geisel School of Medicine professor of medical education Norman Snow has died, as reported by Geisel on Saturday afternoon.

After retiring from practicing as a thoracic surgeon, Snow joined Geisel in 2011, where he taught anatomy. His research focused on the field of thoracic surgery, which involves treating the organs of the chest. Snow was also nationally recognized for his work in research and education on transporting critically ill patients via helicopter and won the Distinguished Physician Award from the Association of Air Medical Services.

He served on various Geisel committees, including the faculty council, the medical education committee and the admission committee.

Snow is survived by his wife, two sons and two grandchildren.
