The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Silicon Valley Board informed alumni that a former DAASV officer had misappropriated funds from the club in a March 11 email.
The former officer's actions have left DAASV with liabilities that they are unable to pay.
DAASV president Katherine Loarie Tu'09 declined to comment because the internal investigation is currently ongoing. A formal audit is also being scheduled.
College spokesperson Diana Lawrence wrote that the College is aware of the situation, but declined to comment further.
Tricia McKeon, communications managing director for the Office of Alumni Relations did not respond to request for comment.
The former officer is not associated with the club anymore. The club has made reports to the College, relevant authorities and affected parties. The board wrote that they have "taken steps to safeguard the DAASV and our processes against future manipulation."
