Laskaris to leave post as dean of admissions and financial aid for Arts and Innovation District

Dean of admissions and financial aid Maria Laskaris will leave her position for a role as special assistant to the provost for arts and innovation, the College announcedin a Thursday press release.

Laskaris will begin her new post on Sept. 1. Laskaris, who was a member of the Class of 1984 and began working at the College's admissions office in 1987, had served in her role as dean since 2007.

In her new role with the Arts and Innovation District, Laskaris will work with the Hood Museum of Art, the Hopkins Center for the Arts and the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network's Innovation Center and New Venture Incubator, as well as other relevant College departments.

Admissions director Paul Sunde will fill Laskaris' vacated postas interim dean of admissions and financial aid. The College's search process will begin soon, with the stated goal of filling the position before July 1, 2016.
