AD fined for serving alcohol to minors

Alpha Delta fraternity accepted a fine of $15,000 dollars from the Grafton County Superior Court after pleading guilty to two charges of serving alcohol to minors, the Union Leader reported.

In January, AD was indicted for providing a 20-year-old female and an 18-year-old male with alcohol. The offense, which occurred last fall, carried up to a $100,000 fine.

In addition to paying the fine, AD members must complete 300 hours of community service, create a management plan for social gatherings, learn to identify signs of intoxication and create an internal risk manager position.

Four AD officers, including president Siegfried von Bonin '14 and vice presidents Nate Davis '14 and Ross Collins '14, signed the agreement.

John Hughes, an attorney from Lebanon, represented the fraternity in the courtroom proceedings. Grafton County attorney Lara Saffo presented the state's case against the fraternity.The College was also required to pay $3,600 for a penalty assessment.
